Capturing a wedding for friends is such an honor and I am so glad Stephanie and Blake trusted me to photograph their beautiful day. From start to finish, their wedding was filled with nothing but joy and love. Gallery 1028 on Goose Island was the perfect backdrop to create a warm and intimate atmosphere for their ceremony and reception. Special thanks to my second shooter, Amber who assisted me and got some seriously gorgeous images throughout the day.
Congratulations you two! I hope you enjoy this extra sneak peek from your wedding day.
Here is their story in their own words,
“Stephanie and Blake met in 2007 studying abroad in Paris. They didn’t like each other. But they didn’t not like each other. Mostly, Stephanie didn’t find Blake’s jokes all that funny, and Blake found Stephanie’s tone to be rude.
It wasn’t until the final side trip to London that they really became friends. And they stayed close friends for years, doing all the most nerdy things together like walking backwards as Arizona State University tour guides, studying for finals, manning the desk for prospective students, eating discounted buffalo wings at reverse happy hour, and throwing tantrums at football games (oh wait, that last part was only Blake).
After college, they decided that they liked each other more than friends, so they tried out dating. And even though they both were thrilled to get job offers after school, it took Blake to Washington, D.C. and Stephanie to Chicago. So they spent all their PTO and pennies visiting each other once a month for three years. When they’d finally had enough of that, Blake moved to what they’d both decided was the superior city: Chicago. Together, they’ve happily summer fested, traveled and attended more concerts than you can count. And they’re still at it!”
